Whether its counterfeit DVDs or fake designer sun glasses, people selling pirate goods has grown exponentially in recent years. Now, in an attempt to stop this trend, Fuengirola Town Hall has developed a pioneering public awareness campaign, aimed at discouraging the public from buying these goods.

Many of the people selling these goods, are not only a detriment to local businesses who have all the overheads that any shop/business would have, but also feeds and illegal industry with strong ties to both drug and people trafficking.

Having many street hawkers selling illegal goods also helps create a negative image of the surrounding area that can be detrimental to the local tourist industry and dampens the creations of new jobs.
