The Town Hall has confirmed that is has requested another meeting with the Junta de Andalucia’s Head of Public works to speed up the expansion plans of the town’s leisure marina.

“Should they give us the administrative authorisation to push the project forward, it could become a reality within the current legislature,” said the Town Planning Councillor and Deputy Mayor, Ana Mula.

The proposed expansion would allow Fuengirola port to accommodate large cruise ships. “This would be a huge advantage for the town, as it would allow thousands of people to stop off in the heart of the Costa del Sol, with all the consequent benefits for local businesses that would bring,” added Mula.
